Demolition Guidelines

Demolition Guidelines

Almost all kinds of renovation projects involve various demolition tasks that need to be carried out prior to actual renovation.  Because it is very essential, it should be planned carefully and in advance, to ensure a cost-effective and successful renovation.

Below are some important tips in conducting demolition activities as part of a room-scale renovation project:

1.  Treat demolition as a project in itself. It should be considered as a pre-requisite milestone that need to be successfully completed before the succeeding renovation activities can take place.

2.  Thoroughly seal off areas that will not be demolished. Use a sheet plastic or tape on these areas to protect them.

3.  Keep the area safe. Make sure that all power sources are turned off and that the area has been inspected carefully.

4.  Hire a professional hauling service. A dump truck from the hauling service can carry debris and save you from multiple trips to the landfill.

5.  Ensure that workers are health-safe. Get the correct tools needed for the job to avoid accidents.  Make sure dust masks and respirators are available to protect from dust inhalations, and appropriate attire and footwear are worn while working.

With the guidelines above, your demolition activity has a higher chance of success, and the renovation project can move towards hassle-free completion.
